Plays In

Another week has passed and if you did not guess it, the answer to last week's contest (a food that would well describe this puzzle) was SQUASH. How, you ask? Let me show you.

Now, you may have realised there were five ten-letter words squashed into five squares each:

17 Across: [One of its stages is "Poached Eggs"] - ANGRY BIRDS
19 Across: [Is a brainiac] - HAS A HIGH IQ
29 Across: [2007 LaGravenese drama film] - P.S. I LOVE YOU
51 Across: [Mozart's "La Clemenza di Tito", e.g.] - OPERA SERIA
65 Across: [Lethargy] - SLEEPINESS
68 Across: [They're permanent, unless you knock them out] - ADULT TEETH

Now, I know what you're thinking; "what does 'Best for Last' mean?"

Well, look at the end of each of the theme answers: ANGRY BIRDS, HAS A HIGH IQ, P.S. I LOVE YOU, OPERA SERIA, SLEEPINESS and ADULT TEETH. What does that spell? SQUASH, a food and a verb.
